前總統馬英九今天表示，太平島是中華民國領土，主權沒有問題；南海仲裁結果，不符事實，其影響力遠遠低於預期。他主張應該劃設太平島的領海與基點、基線。
馬英九出席「太平島光復七十周年圖片展」致詞時表示，南海仲裁案指太平島不是島是礁，「莫名其妙，不符事實」，且程序不正義、實質不公平、邏輯不合理，拒絕接受。
馬英九說，南海仲裁案出爐後至今，影響力遠遠低於預期，有八個國家認為有拘束力，七個國家認為沒有，東協沒有國家討論。
